Blacks Corner is a speciality delicatessen, concept eatery, and wine bar that is re-defining the British cheese and British charcuterie market.

Since humble beginnings in 2015, we have moved from an organic wine night, to travelling to London’s Borough Market on a pop-up, to acquiring premises in the village where we grew up to bring our dream home in 2017 as one of the country’s most ambitious food businesses.

Since opening Blacks Corner in September 2017, we have become the largest retailer of British Charcuterie in the U.K, linked with an ever-expanding list of British farm house cheese producers, achieved National Runner Up in the Northern Design Awards 2017 to accompany three Diners Choice Awards, and entry into the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2018 – Surface Interiors UK & International category.

Fine Wines

We work with passionate wine experts to produce a wine list at a fair price and exceptional quality.

We strive to bring wines from some of the very best wine growers and producers from around the world to East Boldon. From family ran vineyards to low intervation, organic and natural growers, we are proud to present this to you from Blacks Corner and our online store.

British Cured Meat

We source from producers that believe that animals should be ethically and sustainably reared.

We have built a British artisan charcuterie menu around breeds that are free range or wild, to celebrate this new food tradition. Pork, Duck, Beef & Lamb can all be found on our menu that aims to showcase the best that this new and growing industry has to offer.

This unique concept is a conversation of flavours and makers all striving to make small batch produce a reality in our busy, modern world.

The delicatessen, bar, and eatery is the realisation of a dream for two lifelong friends and locals of East Boldon, Jonathan and Chris.  Sharing a passion for produce, hard work, and family, they returned to their home village to build a dream brick-by-brick in this extensive self-build restoration project.

The project involved no large property developers but evolved from two friends with a keen interest in design and unique properties who were intent on realising a vision that would be worthy of an award.  Originally built in 1918 by George Black, this beautifully restored Edwardian corner building has become an instant success and cornerstone of the village of East Boldon.

Since the opening on 23rd September 2017, Blacks Corner has received incredible attention and has become the gem of a village, and a real destination venue in the North East of England.  Blacks Corner is about expert finishing, it is not about just providing an overall look.  It is a room to ponder in, it is to be home felt and recognised, but not immediately understood.  You have to look closer at the final detailing to understand why certain aspects of the room have been put together, and all corners of the interior have a story behind them.

Texture gives the room different areas all within the same area.  This, for us, reflects how all of the produce and tastes can be paired together making this a true modern take on a traditional delicatessen.
